mitch
HI Raiders, I am working in Camden tomorrow afternoon and will (as always) be taking a rod with me. I am just wondering if anyine has info on somewhere to fish around there. I have been told of some pretty good bass fishing but haven't fished there before. The map looks good but not sure where I can actually access the water. Any info at all is very much apreciated. Thanks, Mitch

The Iceman
As you are coming in to camden along camden valley way you come to a bridge crossing the nepean on the right hand side before you cross the the bridge there is a grassy area to park the car have a few casts there at the bridge or you can jump the fence and follow the bank up a bit where there is some clear area to get a few casts in http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=...008926&z=
jewgaffer
They have been pulling good bass out of Menangle Park Mitch. Trek a short distance to under the rail bridge left of the weir. You can park close to it but you need to clamber a little. You can also fish the river behind the trotting track north of the sale weir, not much walking to either and that area has some deeper holes now and is fishing very well at the moment. Another good spot is under Cobbity Bridge on the SIlverdale Road side. Drive into the paddock right on the corner parking at the white pole barrier just off Cobbity Road. It's a very short walk down a slope where you'll come to a white wooden Memorial Cross for a chap by the name of John Britton, who fished there every day for years. Walk down a little slope about 10 metres to a flat area cut out of the shrubs right on the water's edge. You will find a hald submerged tree right in front of you that happen to fall in the water several yrears ago. If you have no luck there the fish will be holding on the opposite side in close to the piles of rocks under the bridge. The river is not very wide there and you might make the cast over with a nine footer. The bait way to go is definately salt water nippers and next best is squirt worms and you'll find botyh in Narellen near the old highway. Dont burley whatever you do as youll attract eels, even on your harbodies. I hope this is of some help to you Cheers jewgaffer
mitch
THanks heaps for the tips guys, very much apreciated. I ended up getting out for a couple of hours with some nice bass to boot. I couldn't believe how clear the water was in spots and I was liiterally sight casting to bass over the weedbeds, awesome. Atomic Hardz and Kokoda Bats were the go to lures with the Hardz getting nailed constantly. Thanks again for sharing some spots. I also tried another spot that I noticed on the map and caught a couple of really nice fish there and would be more than happy to repay the favour if you are fishing out that way Mitch

Pete. Hi Pete We buy saltwater nippers and squirt worms to fish the Nepean, the Menangle River and the upper Georges which all are freshwater rivers handy to where I live. You can also buy live white cricketts from a few of the larger fish tank and fish food suppliers if you're interested in freshwater fishing.
