im going for a drive to qld thinking of stoping for a fish some where a long the way i have never fished out side of sydney im seaking a bit of info beach or rock close to freeway cheers ian

Gday Mate,

My top fishing spot is North Haven about 30 km south of Port Macquarie. It on the Camdem Haven river. It has easy access to fishing off the breakwall or from the beach and you can pump nippers by the bucket load from googleys lagoon.

You turn off the highway at Kew and its about a 10 minute drive to North Haven / Laurieton. and from here you can take the coast road up to Port. Even if you dont stop to fish it makes a nice deviation off the Highway.

70ks off the highway if that is not too far is the town of 1770. go to the tackle shop just out of town and the bloke will direct you to the best rock game fishing platform you can imagine. cobia heaven
