Jewfish At Captain Cook Bridge? Where?

Good afternoon,

exactly where do you sit when fishing for jews at captain cooks bridge? which pylon i mean

betweens the 3rb and 4th pylon counting from the northern side but pretty buch get the anywhere around the bridge. try drifting between ton uglys and captain cook bridge Get some bream and flatties in the process of hammerring some big jewwies

Hi Andrew don't be afraid to fish the shallower pylons on the south side of the bridge....... A natural run over the for school size fish is along the red marker side of the Bay....... The red marker side brings the jewfish towards their first port of call to round up baitfish i.e. the moored boats near the mouth of Wooloware Bay..... When the jew hit the pylons they drive the baitfish, usually tailor, out into the open, manhandle and slap them. You often hear croaks and slaps like under water hand claps then round rings on the surface that slowly get wider as you watch....... If you see double tail slaps on the surface close to the pylons that is a school of big bream hitting baitfish not jewfish........ You often see the seagulls picking up whole stunned tailor, and not bits and pieces..... It is important to remember that jewfish will ambush right at a pylon but the packs generally prefer to drive baitfish schools out in the open over sandy sections where they have room to move and it's good to be just out of casting range of a pylon at the time.
