Hodgey
Well, judging by the amount of traffic flooding into our shire now, many people have commenced their annual Christmas Holidays. I would like to wish all our members a Merry Christmas, and a safe and prosperous New Year. Take care on our roads and waterways! Thank you to all those members who have exchanged questions, ideas and tackle during 08 ... I look forward to doing it all again next year! I know a few of you are heading down here.. If you see a moustache protruding from underneath a Raider cap ... come and say "G'Day" Cheers! Hodgey

Davemmm
I got breatherlized on the way home yesterday (way under) which is a good reminder that there are so many accidents on the road this time of the year and the poor old cops have to work miles of overtime to keep us safe. Dont be stupid on the road. Hodgey you have to put up with all of those tourists at this time of the year just so the rest of the year is so perfect. Maybe you should holiday near Botany Bay over Chrissy and really experience once a year fishos LOL Dave
arpie
Hi Hodgey - Thanks for a timely reminder!! Coming home from Canberra the other day, there are about 10 electronic signs along Hwy 1,warning people about the traffic delays that will occur on the highway come Dec 26 -28!! I don't think I will be moving away from Forster till the end of Jan!! And a very merry xmas & safe New Year to yourself & your family. HOpe you have an even better 2009! Many thanks also for your input into us Fishing Fanatics - I reckon there are a lot more FRs using poppers than ever, due to your excellent instructions! hope you don't find the tourists (we call them terrorists, but in the nicest way ) too annoying - our town is also full already! Almost have to queue for a car park! Unheard of!! TIght lines - looking forward to reading of more of your exploits on the water with Dean! Flightmanager
I'd like to add a friendly warning to anyone heading North this year : Stick to the posted speed limits , particularly in the road work zones. The police have been hammering these zones really hard the last few weeks , even if there are no works actually going on , the 80Km/h limit still applies. There are major roadworks on the F3 Freeway at Berowra , and between Karuah and Bulahdelah . They have opened a small section of the new road about 5KM south of Bulahdelah , but it is still a 80 Km / h limit. The Coopernook to Herons Ck roadworks are also an 80 Km / h zone for about 32 Km , lots of hiding spots for HWP to nab the unwary. Finally , the roadworks from Repton to Coffs Harbour have been completed , cutting out the notorious winding section to Sawtell and Bonville. Its now dual carrriageway , with a 100Km / h speed limit. Please take care on the roads this Christmas , we look forward to seeing all your Christmas pics in the weeks to come !! Ross

Hodgey
I will be heading down that way on Boxing day and staying until early January. First trip down there and hopefully won't be the last Hows the fishing been Hodgey? Is the lake still closed? G'Day Stoney Had a handy session on Sunday, before the wind picked up. Picked up 9 good sized flathead on plastics, and then got smacked around on surface lures by bream and whiting for the remainder of the morning! We have had extremely windy conditions for the last 9 days now The closed entrance has done nothing to deter the fish. It should be a red-hot summer! no bites
They are all arriving up here on the mid north coast aswell, went out to Forster to visit the parents and it was standing room only, lol. People everywhere, and the traffic is a nightmare. So, like so many others have said previously, please take care on the roads.
