csg
merry christmas to all raiders Today and me and two virgin game fisherman went to nelson bay to try for a marlin After 2 weeks of hearing reports and getting very excited i organised a trip to the bay As this is early in the season i dont usually waste my time game fishing but reports had me keen My gang converted an already planned soft platic snapper mission into hardcore game started early gathering bait for an early assault on the big dolphin fish that turn up at this time of the year having 5 yaccas and 6 slimies we made our way to the FAD afetr 5 min and 21 c water we realised our efforts were in vane calling it of quickly we headed to the shelf upon arrival to our chosen spot ther were 8 boats fishing or catching bait great i thought we set our spread having a new bunch of lures it took me a good 30 mins to get it working then 45 mins in zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz we are on vey short lived and its all over we contiue with our plan and head south west an hour later we decide to head back to the spot where we got our only bite with the rest of the fleet heading south this was a hard decision we were fishng with big boys in a 580 coastrunner surrounded by 1m dollars plus game boats its easy follow the leader however we turned around 50 mins later all the crew are getting restless and the usual insults are doing the rounds you need thick skin to fish with this crew just ask greg L we are sharing the rod 30 min at a time no more than 1 .30 min before my turn the left short cnr comes to life zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and i mean comes to life this isnt your usual bay stripey this girl goes sick getting more air then an albatross i call her a long way out for at least 90kg sam does an amazing job of staying connected to this rampaging bull and against all odds stays connected the fight settles after 15 mins of utter kaos sams looking cool the fish comes close and i put the gloves on im driving and i think as i see colour down deep good fish black well over 120kgs this fished stayed just off the leader for another 45mins till we pushed the leaver way past strike and with over 10kgs of drag she came to the leader spent but not happy i take the leader and she dont like it 2 mins later we have some photos and big striped marlin ready for realese this girl would have easily gone 140kgs and about 8 mins after taking the leader she swims away sorry about the lack of photos but i will upload them later with gregs help this is my first post hope you guys liked it and inspired by greg L post about our oter trips i wiil do my best to cover our fishing trips this year ps Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all raiders till next time tight lines
