Catching Whiting On Sp's

hey all i need a bit of help on how to catch whiting on soft plastics. Whats the best size, colour, jig head size and weight, and retrive technique. The reason i ask this went for a fish down the spit today seen heaps of buggers and i threw everything i had a them for nil .

Any help would be greatly appriciated

2in gulp worms motoroil redfleck or camo rigged on a 1.4gm no4 hook squidgy ballhead

Fish it with short hops and a pause Go up to a 2gm jighead if theres a bit of current running
