Kiwi Dan
Hello raiders, I have a 40hp mariner on the back of my 15ft al dehaviland. Ive never tried towing a tube behind it but does anyone know if I would be able to do it behind that size motor/boat? Im not looking to break any speed records or anything, I just want to know if I would be able to pull it fast enough to have some fun with mates over the xmas/new years holidays. I would be towing my boat up to the central coast from Sydney if it is possible but I probably wouldnt bother if the boat wasnt going to pull a tube very well. Any thoughts, comments, ideas would be appreciated.
pelican
Yeah it will do it if you buy a smaller simpler tube not a mega hge tube as long as your mates aren't too fat. Pick a lightweight as the observer. Check your insurance as many will not cover you for towables or skiers without extra $ and remember to have an observer in the boat. If you have a lower pitch prop it may help get you on the plane faster. Edited December 22, 2008 by pelican

Penguin
Didnt sum1 get taken by a shark a few years back in northern NSW or Qld being towed on a tube? I would be pooing my daks if I were the one in the tube, Thats one mighty big lure you would be trolling. penguin
