Fishing At Yamba

Hey Guys

Heading up to Yamba on the weekend for two weeks straight  .

What Pelagics will be up there at this time, not to sure if you get species like talior up there and will metals from 40grams to 65grams be enough for them, is there chance for a longtail tuna from the breakwall.

In the river i don't have a boat so landbased spots would be really helpful, couldn't care if there a bit of of a trek as long as they hold fish. I have heard whiting beach is good. I want to target bream flatties and whiting on lures and maybe a bit of live bait.

Any places on the walls that are good for bream.

Might be hiring a boat so any spots that are good for bream flatties and whiting would be good. Also i have heard the middle wall is good for bream.

I will be using plastic like Gulps, Squidgey Pros, squidgeys, ecogear vibes, Locally made vibes, metals and baits like worms and livies for a jewies on the wall.

Any help will be most appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

I think I might go there myself. From what I have read (haven't visited Yamba yet), longtail are caught off the wall but don't show up until around mid March and hang around until June. There is a chance of getting a spanish mackeral too. In the river there are plenty of rock walls (eg the middle wall) which would be worth trying from a boat with soft plastics for bream, flathead and jew. There are also outside charters which leave from Yamba.
