Kruzenvax Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Hi all, I wonder if it is possible to catch kingfish "out of the bay". Say, when I read about kingfish caught in Botany Bay it is typically at Moulinex Point, Warf, or other place inside the bay. But what about heads near the entrance to the bay? I mean, when I go out - if I turn left or right - I see good looking rocks that seem to resemble a good structure - does anybody fish for kingies there? If yes, what are the techniqes? Thanks

Thanks i have caught em just outside the heads on the left hand side (near nsw golf club I think)only about 80metres around the corner in about 30 ft. of water burley up with bread, keep bashing it through the burly pot and it will attract heaps of sweep after a while the kingies come around to investigate the comotion and an unwaited squid cast out the back and let float around will get them. leave the bait out while you are burleying ,this is also a good way to get snapper if they are around. it doesnt work every time but if the kingies are there you should get them. hope this helps. pete.
