This one below begged once again for my Jitter after three explosive hits he could just not get enough!!! I still cant get over how hard these fish hit!!! and the sound of the surface explosion is giving me sleepless nights!!!! Not much of a report but if you have never been bass fishing DO IT!!
jamesds Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Mate sounds awesome. You should write up a 'bass catching guide' or something, so we all know the 'where, when, what, why and how' Itching to have a go! I have been fishing for bass just about every second day last month and just cant stop. A bass Catching Guide is outta my league still haha... One mag that is worth a read tho is the Barra Bass Bream. And if everyone knew the Where, When, What , Why and how my walking hikes would just get harder and harder!!!
arpie Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Top bass, HSM! Isn't it amazing how they will climb all over the lures & miss it as often as they do, with so many pointy bits dangling down in their face!!?? Same with bream & whiting too! Well done Roberta

Well done Roberta haha I know Roberta, One last light after dark had a go, it was sucking all up and around the lure and an finally the hook up was enough for a 30sec fight and he got off... Whiting are the masters of it!!! sometime makes me so mad when i'm popping them!!! Does anyone know how to change Gitter hooks?? they don't have a split ring. maybe cut the hook off and put a split ring and better hooks on???
arpie Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 hahaha Heart in the mouth stuff, eh??? So frustrating!! Internally you are saying .... go, go, take it, take it! Then they give up! Didn't know the hooks had a name! Gitter hooks??? I have just cut them off & added split rings & better hooks (usually they rust up pretty quick, I find, probably inferior hooks?) Chees Roberta I had bream following my lure out of the structure the other day & not get hooked (not often you actually see them when in a yak!!) It was sooooo frustrating!!
