nahnothing Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Hi fellow fishos, i was wondering what your views are on this brand of reels? i see alot of specials on them from alot of shops and my local keeps trying to sell me this brand. any good?
Sammy0884 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Hi Mate, If you are looking for 'cheaper' reels then look at something from Okuma, they are well built, cheap and come with a lifetime warranty. i have used a number of models and have been very satisfied. Cheers Sam
Jewhunter Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Like all cheap reels there is a chance that they will fail you when you least need it. You get what you pay for. If your local keeps pushing them to you then maybe they are only allowed to stock budget tackle or your budget for your tackle is a bit low. Stick to the reputable brands & they will serve you well. Hope this helps. Cheers, Grant.
nahnothing Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Thanks for the reply guys, maybe i should give him a bigger budget to work with and see what else he can come up with.
Flightmanager Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Send a PM To GoFishPete , Im certain he has something of a higher quality within your budget !! Ross
sniper Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 some of the cheap viva reels are good like the old PT andCT range cheap and you cant kill them then you go to the high price range thier absolute CRAP ive used the baitrunners they dont even last one fishing trip
slinkymalinky Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Like the guys have said, stick to known reputable brands. Companies like Okuma, Penn, Shakespeare, Pfleuger have reputations to protect so even at the bottom end of their ranges they can't afford to produce crap. Cheers, Slinky
nahnothing Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 sniper exactly what i wanted to hear! thanks to all for the feedback.
