Botany & Hacking Fish Safe To Eat?

G'Day Crew,

Just wanted some opinions. Mate reckons that he would NOT eat any fish taken from Botany Bay or Port Hacking due to industrial waste, chemicals etc etc.

To me the water system APPEARS very clean..............

I appreciate that there are restrictions from fish taken in the Harbour?

So far I am mainly a catch and release person, but would not mind a feed of flatty, never tried Bream are they nice to eat?

Thanks again.

Rob

The water in the Hacking is totally polluted. The run off over the years from various enterprises is so bad that the fish themselves have all left the waterway.

None of you should come down to fish it - especially tommorrow and Sunday between 5.30am and 10.00am.

I implore you for the safety of you and your family find a much better river to fish.

When it comes good I will call you all. :1prop::1prop:

You don't reside behind the 'Oyster Curtain' by any chance Dave? You sound like my mate who lived a Gymea. I turned up at his place one evening, opened the boot and revealed a 14lb jewfish I had caught in the Hacking while he was sitting at home. He started ranting something about me needing a travel permit to enter the Shire from the Western Suburbs!
