Hey Guys

Well its finally come but gone just as fast, our trip to fantastic Yamba on the far north coast.

We got there on the 10th of Jan after a 9 hours of driving by my dad and brother who is getting up hours for his P's.

Got to Yamba and it was bright and sunny looked around in the shops and had a look in my fav shop the fishing shops ahaha. Went back to the house unpacked got the rods and reels out had a look for any damage but there was none.

Day to was full of fishing up just as the sun rose and caught some lovely bream and flatties from the beach as well as a shark which was cool.

Went into down and had a coffee and a milkshake whick was good.

Came back to the house and played playstation with my bro and friends.

Night came and I was back on the beach for another sesh but i only got a shark.

For the next couple of days It was pretty much the same except I started to fish around the unloading trawlers after there night catch. This was great caught loads of bream on prawns, one went to 33cm NEW P.B :yahoo:

Friday had come and we had organised a charter with a mater I had bought a custom jew rod of. Started a 7am with bait just to get some fish on the board then moved to plastics.

Bit slow then started to get some flatties on 3inch stickbaits. The charter was so good we had booked again for tuesday.

Fished by the trwlers and off the beach till tuesday and caught about 20 or so bream.

Tuesday Came and went out at 6am and again started with bait to get on the board. Changed to plastics and finally a hit cam conected to my Very first bream on Sp's and went 30cm again. Next fish was my second bream and a New P.B

Caught to more flatties and that finished the day.

Finished the rest of the week with fishing the beach and rocks for more bream and sharks as well as flatties.

On the friday before we left I got to go out with an ABT fisherman to teach me how to fish blades and i got more flatties and finally my first bream on blades :yahoo::thumbup: .

Found a patch of jews and hooked one and got smokeddd it was awesome. Obviously the jew gods hate me ahaha.

Finally all things come to an end and we left sunny yamba and headed to Sydney.

Cheers

Thanks for reading.

Well done Steve - you went up there with the view to catching a jew & you did it ...... almost!! A bustoff is as close as I've come to catching big ones, too!! :)

Also congrats on trying all the techniques that were new to you! You now know a few more fishing styles & the ABT guy would have refined your techniques, no doubt!

Did your new lures (were they bevy pops?) work at all?? If they don't work, I'll buy them from you! :1prop:

Congrats on all your PBs - it won't be long before you are upgrading, big time!!!

Great report Steve!

Sounds like a fun trip with plenty of fishing.

Congrates on the bream on plastics and blades, just gotta have faith in them and in no time you won't even put bait on in the first place!

Well done Steve! Explored some new water with some new lures and techniques, and improved your PB! :yahoo::yahoo: Sounds like you had a fantastic holiday mate. Fishing with a tournie fisherman was a huuuge bonus, and one that I'm sure you will remember for years to come. I reckon your days of bait fishing are just about numbered :biggrin2:

Cheers
