atouma
Droped boat in for little night fishing last night 11 pm. After seeing so many boats come back, and tell me nothing was biting at all, most of the day and evening, I thought shit am i wasting my tiime here. So still enthusatic, headed and anchored at third runway. Berley up, try different baits/plastics/lures - nothing seemed to be working. After few hrs, decided to move on towards north side of breakwall, again anchored and waited for the morning sunrise. Once again, small fish chewing at bait - then landed a couple gummies ( port jackson sharks), the usual catch, kiss and release lol By this time many boats have come and anchored along break wall - and no one seemed to be doing well. Decided to go out to north side of heads, bit further out and do drifts back towards bay over reef. The bang, finally i could say im on, and its a decent catch. Landed as told a Winter Bream just on the 60cm mark - weighing arounf 5.8 Kg. This got our attention and we decided do a few more drifts down along the reef line. No luck once again, and back to small nibbles. But hey cant complain, it was a great night/morning - ok weather and got myself one for the BBQ. Better luck next time. michaelrdoyle@gmail.com
Landed as told a Winter Bream just on the 60cm mark - weighing arounf 5.8 Kg. What's a winter bream? ANSA records the Australian Record bream as 5.1kg. So 5.8 would be an Australian record - perhaps even world record. Sounds like you had fun though - which is cool.
