fisherboy
We got up at 3:30 and left and at 4:00 to be on the water by 5:00 When we got outside is was nice and flat there was a bit of a swell but not a big one. Our first stop was at Wollongong reef as we where was told there has been fish there recently but there was nothing. we drifted for about 1hour from thee islands to land a massive leatherjacket(tonites dinner) and a bonito but as i was lifting it into the boat the knot gave way (only 6lb leader) and a couple of massive sweep and some sergeant baker they went back because we didn’t know what they were at the time. sergeant baker (correct us if we are wrong) we trolled some lures around the islands for nothing but we saw someone bring in a decent size king so we stoped close by for a bit and my first cast a king took the lure while it was still sinking and it went 54cm so back it went (my first king) my first king (went 54cm) 5 mins later another king was landed about 48 so it went back. The next stop was hill 60 it was dead flat because the islands stoped the swell. My mum picked up 3 marrong smallest 38cm biggest around 47 so there’s dinner. We lost a lot of sinkers to the reef but kept the rig that was lucky. Last stop was at the container wall as we were drifting i got busted of by a big king and we saw some one else land a rat king. To finish the day of we watched a coal ship come in then we went home after a good. We were of the ramp around 4 Forgot the camera so only got some phone pics on the day and took some pics of the end results when we got home the days catch Fisherboy Edited January 28, 2009 by fisherboy

jewgaffer
Nice Wollongong session Fisherboy! I'll bet your dad Dave would be happy with a catch like that For a nice mild tasting fish it's hard to go past leather jackets of that size. Good luck in Botany Bay on the weekend! Cheers jewgaffer
