Brooklyn On Monday

hi raiders, its been a couple of weeks since my last report and this one is nothing spectacular however I did manage a couple of fish.

This trip started on sunday arfternoon in the nepean river for mullet. loaded up the boat with 1 stepson (JOSH)and 2 grandkids(CHRISTOPHER AND iSSABELLE) and spent a couple of hours trying to get bait for the brooklyn trip next day- result - a heap of sprat or freshwater herring but no mullet!

monday morning hit the water and straight to a spot where I catch mullet at brooklyn and fished there for about 1 1/2 hours and managed 4 keepers and a heap of undersize mullet, to settle all arguements about what type of mullet i photographed them at home, I think they are yellow eyed mullet?? you decide!post-8689-1233131863_thumb.jpg

Off to the spot where i managed a couple of flathead last week anchored up and with in 5 mins a nice bream was in the boat and i thought - this is going to be good - how wrong i was!

after about 3 hours all I managed was a couple of undersized bream and 1 large chopper tailor, so I decided a change of plans was in order, I pumped some yabbies hoping to pick up some of scrubworms elbow slapping whiting and after trying several spots only managed 2 more bream just legal.

called it a day at about 4pm and came home got changed and went to rooty hill and watched "mental as anything" and fireworks at the aust day celebrations!

Didnt catch many fish but any day with a fishing rod in your hand is a top day!

WHAT A SESSION PETE,

I cANNOT BELIEVE you tackled the crowds on monday at the ramp, your just as keen as me.

You managed to catch a feed and thats a consolation Pete.

That bream in the photo looks big even without its head on, you got to spend some quality time with the youngsters ,got out onto the water and then hit the hill for the mentals.

Top stuff and better luck next time.

HI PETE,

Yeah mate that would have been me , live in the two story and can watch the fireworks from my balcony.

Would be better if I can convince the neighbour to chop a few limbs off a tree he has.

Mate I was looking out for the parachute flag dropp but did not see it, did they cann it dew to the strong winds?

Well done Pete! Great feed there mate. Do you eat the mullet or keep as bait?

hi glenn, mate it depends on how desperate for a feed I am and how much I need some bait!

My mum loves mullet so she will get this lot, I dont mind them myself, from that end of the river they taste great!

Pete.
