jacksback
Having a problem with the speedo on my Yamaha 60hp. I first traced the problem to a foreign object within the pickup hole in the lower leg of the motor. Next time I took it out, worked fine for about 15kms, then freezed. Blocked again! Blow the line out again with a compressor, and next time worked fine again for only 20 or so k's. Have not had one outing where the speedo has worked the whole day. Has anyone had the same problem and are there any fixes? Tks

Make sure you remove the tube from the top of the engine and blow out backward. my fix is i now use the GPS for spped and never look at the speedo
strewth
I had the same problem on a 60HP 4 stroke Yammie. Fixed it by inserting a small diameter drill bit in the hole and rotating by hand. Removed a lot of crud. I would not use compressed air, as that blows the crud in not out.
