groperman
The common way I would do is use 4 gang hooks and then use a rubber band to tie up the nose of the gars with the leader. Anyone else have a different technic for rigging up garfish for spinning? cheers! Dean

brickman
there was a post in game fishing call rigging a swimming gar it had a link in one off the posts to a usa guy rigging a balyhoo as they call it for sail fish the four hook rig is ok but the above gives the gar a swimming action that is so life like it is worth the trouble it takes a while to get the hang off it [better to pre rig and freeze] but well worth the effort cherrs gary

caranx
There have a been a few posts and links for gar spinning. I prefer a single hook through the mouth, out the gills and pinned through the belly to keep the action. Tie up the beak, pink squid over the top and a small sinker and its ready. If you need to cast further, use gangs. You can use thin wire around the head, proper ballyhoo wire heads, or bait mate to secure it .
