Sliding Snell

Hey Guys

Making up some rigs to chase jewies from Juno Point and other places but i am finding the Sliding snell a *@#$% to tie. I have looked at books on the internet but all of the rigs shown are very very hard to tie.

Can anyone give me a place to look that's has an easy to tie sliding snell.

Hi Kirks books can be confusing. When turning the loop around the barb and the shank just make sure that you wrap with the part of the loop that comes out of the tag section which you hold along the shank and not out of the part of the loop that goes back to the main leader line. When you get the hang of it, the snell is a reliable self tightening knot under pressure and easy to tie, and the slider is just as easy in that you are only tying a separate piece of line as the sheaf for the main leader line to go thru..... No need to go thru the eye of the hook as contact where the eye hook rolls over could create a weakness in the leader under pressure as the hook slides along the line.
