DarkHorse Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 G'Day Crew, I finally go the chance to replace my damaged Loomis with a new GL3 1-3kg ultra light rod. Being VERY careful with it all afternoon, tonight I picked it up and the tip JUST touched the ceiling............ Being overly cautious and extremely freaked out I looked at the tip to see if I had damaged it. I noticed a small mark just down from the tip/guide. It appears that the epoxy resin MAY have cracked slightly. It is very small mind you. What do I do? Take it back and possibly get an exchange for another one, wait until I fish with it and see what happens, if it breaks pay another $150 and get it replaced under the Loomis expediter warranty or buy some rod fixing/making epoxy and put a small dab over the mark? I have never used the epoxy before, never "repaired" a rod before, any special procedures? Also where is the best place to buy the epoxy? I assume there are different levels of quality? Thanks again, you are all a wealth of info and your replies are greatly appreciated. Regards, Rob
snag Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Rod id take it back and get the pro's to put new epoxy on the damaged part. Dont try it yourself.
