slinkymalinky Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Won't stretch the friendship with out of date details but having finally moved permanently to the Gold Coast and also been reconnected to the net, I have to indulge and at least post some pics of a few of the fish, and quick details of the 2 trips out I managed a few weeks back with Jewhunter and my FIL (not to mention Little Slinky and Little Jewhunter on the second trip... Trip 1: Tweed 9 Mile Reef about 5 weeks ago... A nice cobe Jewhunter pinned on a soft plastic... a touch under 8kg and didn't it pull haaaard! Jewhunter was the first to land one of the baby yellowfin that were herding bait around the reef My turn... a jellybean on light gear. This is why I was asking about high speed bream reels! FIL getting in on the yellowfin action... the first of a couple trolled up on Rapala CD7s Trip 2: Gold Coast Seaway and Broadwater about 4 weeks ago... The Seaway was packed with bait and under the bait were... FIL with nice Seaway pinkie And then a nice 73cm Lizard Jewhunter wanted to play tag with the Seaway Jacks... and lost big time. Little Jewhunter (left) and Little Slinky (right) finally stop playing long enough to half heartedly wet a line. You can tell that their dads are a bit addicted... not often you see a 4 year old and a 6 year old fishing with a TD Sol and a Fireblood And finally, the catch of the day. Little Jewhunter lands a stud pair of Broadwater undies taken on a live Herring. It's only the really old jocks that get big enough and wise enough to grow the characteristic barnacles of genuine trophies. Cheers, Slinky
arpie Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Great pics, Slinky - I think you are having way too much fun up there in Qld!!! Good on you! Good to hear you are back online Roberta
Hodgey Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 You are having waaaay too much fun up there Slinky! Some great photos of all the key players holding some very nice fish. The kids with the SOL and Fireblood cracked me up ... don't suppose you want to adopt a balding overweight 42 year old? Just think: I I mean 'he' could lift the anchor, clean and scale the fish, and occasionally use some of that equipment you have! 2009 is going to produce some great reports from you buggers ... and good luck to ya! Cheers Ian
