Graduated my certificate III in Aged Care on the 30th Jan after 12 wks in the classroom and 2 wks work experience. Had an interview at the place I did work experience yesterday and got a phone call today to say I got the job. Woo hoo! :yahoo: Have orientation on Thursday, then just have to wait for my first shift.

That is good news! :) It can be difficult getting into work when you move to the coast - good thinking to get into 'aged care' - Forster has a large aged community! They don't call it 'God's Waiting Room' for nothing!

Terrific news

Congratulations Kelly. I have several Aged Carers on my books, and they find their role highly rewarding.

Enjoy your new-found career. I hope it turns out to be everything that you want it to be

Cheers

Congratulations on getting that job. It is a worthwhile career. A good job to get into considering the large ageing population in that area.

You will be one of them soon too Glen :1prop: With Kel working means more fishing time for me :yahoo:

All the best with your new career mrsiwannajewie :yahoo:

Good choice too,no matter how the economy fairs in the future there will always be work for you.

Should be plenty of opportunity to improve your skills/qualifications as well, My sister started out with similar [or same] job as yours a few years ago and now does home nursing.

Loves her job!!

Well done Mrs Iwannajewey. I know from experience that it is harder to study "later" in life than straight after school (although you have listed your dob and you arent very old).

Well done on a new career.
