Rabbit Dave Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 This idiot was allow out last night. Took the offer, went to Roseville Bridge were thier is some shelter. (20 odd years working out side). Arrived 10.30 pm in a lighht shower, tide coming in, water murky but warm and expecting no bits and home by 12.00pm. Set my two rods - 5ft and 8ft Most bits are from the 5ft rod. A few nibbles and pulled in a star fish, A few nibbles and caught a cat fish A soft bit and caught a bream. (Larger one) A few more bits ...... rebait and it starts pissing down ..... move into shelter and the rod disappears into the river (12.30)am. Minus one fishing rod Not happy Use the 8ft rod to "grapple" for the missing rod. Give up after 15mins and continue fishing - a few bits. Continue fishing and consider when low tide is - a few bits Continue fishing and change casting angles and wind in slowly (2.00am) Finally around 2.30 hit a slow snag. Carefully catch the monkey... Caught my rod. Yes fish still on the hook Largest fish I have seen here (except for FRED - Puffer Fish) in the six months going here. Home at 4.00am and woken by 2 year old at 8am

Keflapod Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Mate I LOVE reading funny reports. Yours is a beauty. The case of the missing rod eh? It would have been funnier if you went to your rods and there were three rods instead of two. Then you'd be scratching your head ! What the? Very nice bream by the way - I didn't fish in the daytime bcos of the rain - you went out AT NIGHT in the rain. That's very impressive. Getting 4 hours sleep - that's the hard bit....
