Benums Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Hi guys, Going down to Greenwell point for a weekend of fishing this weekend. Just wondering if anyone has any experience down there or spots I can check out. I dont have a GPS. I was just going to use plastics in the river and channels that stretch off the shoalhaven. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance. Ben
hookerbruce Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Hi Ben Fished there last weekend in the wind and rain we kept about 20 flathead 40cm up. The best was a 59cm model taken down near the entrance. Start fishing at the red marker post about 200metres east of the trawler wharf and fish around any structure (rocks, weed beds dropoffs) along the south side of the river towards the ocean. Tide didn't seem important. Concentrate in approx 1/2 to 1 metre of water. The bream were very quite only 6 caught, best 37 cm. Good Luck Hookerbruce
MightyBites Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Hey mate, I reckon you should give it a go up near the ferry to comerong island. The lads got a 6kg jewie 2 nights ago and id bet theres more lurking in a hole close by Not sure about plastics tho? They used weighted livies [mullet] set about 1m off the bottom! If not, try over towards orient point culburra around those little islands on the run out tide.. I guarantee you will bagg out on flatties in half an hour..! "Dont tell em i sent ya" There was an awsome flattie in the paper today, caught near G.P. somewere?? It was 110cm long 25cm wide head and went 8.9kg on the scales! was released too!! Good luck! Tight Lines..!

I know of an island that is just across from there but dont know of amy others. Will definitely try off the red post near the trawlers, I know there is a channel on the south side of the river heading tpwards the breaker wall also so will give that a try. Thanks guys. will report back early next week and let you know how I went. Cheers Ben Edited February 19, 2009 by Benums
