scotty d Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Guys reading lots lately about "soo many sharks" and how bad they are and im sick of it. yes they attack people and its horrific to the victim, friends and family of the victim. But at the end of the day the sharks didn"t break into someones house and attack. We go into their world. Swim, dive and fish in there world.Do things that attract them.If someone jumps into a lions den and gets attacked is it surprising?? And by the way the figures of the amount of sharks getting caught , getting their fins cut off and thrown back in, to have a terrible painful death are enormous. Cant remember the exact figures but sure its in the millions each year. Long live sharks!!

glennmreid Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 At the end of the day, we go into the sharks domain. You don't see them grow legs and walk on land and attack us. When we go into the water, it is the risk we take. Sharks live in the water, you enter their world. We have to take reponsibility for our actions. I hate it when I see on the news there is an attack, then they want to catch the shark and kill it. It doesn't solve anything. You kill one shark, doesn't stop another shark from attacking. as other poeple have said, you have more chances dying from a bee sting or crossing the road. Humans aren't sea creatures, so when we enter the water it is the risk we take. All you can do is do as much as you can to avoid an attack. don't swim at dawn, dusk or near fisherman. Swim with other people if possible. The responsibility lies with us.
Mik Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Swim with other people if possible. I can see alot of Mother-In-Laws being invited to go swimming!
