Northside Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Hi Peoples, I want to go down and start doing some serious rock fishing in the next few days as the wind dies off. I normally fish the harbour by boat but really want to try some land base rock action. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go?? And what bait to use???

The ovens or north whale pretty reliable. Fresh bait or pillies ganged (under a float) is my pick. Good luck.
brickman Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 second the ovens as the best land based game fishing spot on tha northen beaches a bitch to get to but worth the walk there's even a good rock pool for liveys i would also take fresh gar fish as a back up bait cherrs gary
smoked1 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Thats old info. The ovens is now the "nothings". Bit dangerous, did they mention you need a 12m rope to climb down? There are safer and better options if you are willing to travel 30mins.
