Lion island was always a good spot for me.. on the north east side..squid,prawns or pilchards

drop your baits to the bottom and lift up about 2 to 3 meters,or untill you feel a bite..find the fish and have a great day

at this time of year you should do well drifting about 50mtrs out from the shore, basically from where the shoreline turns the corner towards brisbane waters back towards patonga.

half pillies usually work well and will catch you good flatties and some tailor. early morning before the wind picks up is best.

Its common to catch a dozen or so fish in this area drifting. There are some good size squid in this area at times also, dont ask me why I dont know what they are attacted to here, but it would pay to leave a squid jig drifting behind the boat here just in case!

good luck

Pete.
