breamhunter Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Gonna head down to narra beach from around 6pm-12am tommorow arvo, might hit the lake as well depending on what time we get there with traffic and all, got no idea about what the tides are etc as this is the only time i can head out im going anyway, any tips etc/ or people going there as well 2moro. Have fished the lake several times but havent hit the beach, also only going to be using bait(pilchards, yakkas, mullet, prawns) and maybe some metal lures if i think they are gonna have a chance not into soft plastics that much yet
luderick59 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 (edited) you will be fishing a rising tide i would fish the lake opp the caravan park for fresh bait as there are plenty of herring and mullet plus the odd tailor berley up with bread to catch them at around 9pm i would hit the beach with the fresh bait and try for a jew [big bait =BIG FISH] near the entrance of the lake or a little south of it g ood luck peter 11pm high tide light north easter [perfect] Edited February 26, 2009 by luderick59
breamhunter Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 hahaha you are a "LEGEND" just what i wanted to hear, i was thinking of getting livies down at bobbin head as i am passing there and it literally takes me 5mins to usually get about 8-10mullet and 4-5 yakkas from the wharf, also i have an air-ator thingy, easier to do it narra??? cos ive never tried for livies there dont really want to waste much time as i said this might be the only time i get to fish from now on(every second friday )
Frizzy Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Planning on heading to Narra beach tonight also. Should get there around 8:30pm if everything goes to plan. Objective... Jewfish!! *fingers crossed*
breamhunter Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 sounds like there could be a few ppl turning up there tonight, hopefully will meet up with some guys, anyone know where the best place to park would be, also if i need anything extra for beach fishing as this is a 1st, i got the pyramid type sinkers, rod holder, general purpose rods only at the moment and then all my other standard gear
humesy Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Best of luck to ya. Narrabeen is my local and definitely holds fish (though not for me lately). My advice is to not rule out the other beaches. You will definitely have to stake out a spot early (ie 5.30-6.00) if you want the pick of the gutters on a weekend night. There are plenty of ther beaches that fish just as well and a bit of a drive will show you where.
mushtaka Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I went out on Thursday night and all my baits were getting mashed-up by crabs. Did this happen to you guys. I was towards the nth end of Narra.
breamhunter Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 im not going to say how it went last night but all i can say is maybe i should go during the day time first before i go at night
bb4life Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 hahaha you are a "LEGEND" just what i wanted to hear, i was thinking of getting livies down at bobbin head as i am passing there and it literally takes me 5mins to usually get about 8-10mullet and 4-5 yakkas from the wharf, also i have an air-ator thingy, easier to do it narra??? cos ive never tried for livies there dont really want to waste much time as i said this might be the only time i get to fish from now on(every second friday ) Umm where bouts is ther wharf?? is it in narra lake?? near wollies bridge, cara park?
Rhino2099 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 im not going to say how it went last night but all i can say is maybe i should go during the day time first before i go at night Hey Breamhunter did you make a cameo appearance about 8ish with a friend and only stayed a little while ? I was fishing next to you I think, never mind the only things out that night were the crabs bb4life I think he's referring to the wharf at Bobbin Head Ryan
breamhunter Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 yeh i was referring to bobbin head wharf bb4life, and rhino2099 i was hoping if there was any raiders there they would of forgotten about us, in my mind i was picturing it so differently when we got there we didnt realise it was gonna be as dark as it was we only had the one smallish torch, i said to my mate were stuffed and said ill go get my shimano 8 footer and throw out a frozen pilchard and see if its worth hangin around , reeled it to see it had been mauled but i didnt really feel anything pull decided to have one more pilchard out and same result we decided we would head back to bobbo where there was quite a few ppl fishing in the dark only got a couple of smallies but yeh first beach experience might have to be forgotten
