Hoody Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) Check this out fellow raiders. Completed two days ago. 7'6 Extra Fast Taper Bream Rod 2-5kgs (probably can handle a little more than a good bream.) Used a St Croix Blank. EVA Camo grips Fuji metal parts around the grip (winding checks etc etc) Deluxe Fuji VSS Soft Touch Reel Seat Guides are Amtaks with Nanolite Ring combination of A Frames and Fly. Only the second rod i've built. Pretty happy with it. Not really easy to make out all the features from these crappy photos, but if you raiders have any advice, let me know. Cheerio O and that real is a Shimano Symetre with 6lb fireline on it. Edited February 27, 2009 by Hoody

Hoody Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 All up, i'd say around $300. Took it for a quick spin on the weekend. Rod and reel is a beaut. Looks good mate well done. How much did it set you back. Ps, I reckon for the cash those symetre's are about the best bang for your buck
Hoody Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 Around 10 hrs labour time. There is alot of waiting in between as you could understand. Waiting for epoxy to dry etc. Was well worth the effort. Sure looks the goods. At least the fish wont be able to see you with those cammo grips Just have to blood it now. How many hours do you reckon it took you to complete? Cheers Mariner
