On Saturday at about 1pm i headed down to bobbin head for a fish. I went and bought some fresh mullet and king prawns from the eastwood fish markets hoping they would strike me some flatties and bream.

What did i get... 1 fish in 2 hours. So i headed down the road to apple tree bay and chucked my line in with another fella. i got a bloody huge hit from a flattie which jumped out and ripped my hook off the line. after that i only caught a few tailer and didnt wanna try going for jews. So dont try fishing for flatties there unless you got a boat/kayak.

From you :1fishing1: mate

First i walked over near the bridge and no 1 was getting anything... so i decided to try those flats just off the weed beds at apple tree bay. i couldnt be bothered to walk round the path to the other bay was getting dark soon.

But some old fella was telling me about these jews he caught there with tailor. saw the biggest mullet jump out of the water ever, look like a string ray chasing it... lol

you :1fishing1: mate

u mean get jewies there? on tailor?

yes!, on tailer ... best place is on a boat about 500m around the corner of apple tree bay, huge hole there massive jews

:074: u replied just before i posted, hmm my main success at apple tree bay is whiting and tailor never got anything else of size there

Well try catching live poddy mullet with a bait trap. At narrabeen tackle shop they have the best traps for only $13, never fails me. And trust me there are some big big flatties there but wont hook up....

Some guy got lucky with a sp, 3" Gulp Prawn got a great bream near the boats

What so funny when he casted his line, the sinker went flying and landed on someoens yatch hahaha

yea ive had no luck with poddies yet but will keep trying, also similar story two kids were fishing near me and they decided to see who could cast further, i saw one of them quickly tie 2 bigger sinkers on and watched as they were about to cast, first kid got it between two boats fair distance then the multiple big sinker kid threw his out and it flew over one of the boats when he tried to reel back in it got caught on one of the posts on the boat, next 5mins i couldnt stop laughing as his mum gave him verbal abuse to last a lifetime :074:

PS: wats the best fish youve hooked there landbased? bobbo or apple

Hahahahahahaha classic wish i was there, i could imagine the mum priceless aye?

Umm well that was my second time there best was a 60cm flattie at apple . at bobbin was a bream 40cm, was bloody stoked , was just pulling the hook at nothing after the lil stupid bait stealers took my bait, then i saw this bream go a-wall and atatcked my hook hahahahaha easiest hook up ever lol

Wouldnt eat anything in bobbin or apple, wouldnt be surprised if i hooked a fish with 3 eyes haha

yea my hook ups have been a 45cm tailor and a 38cm whiting, and 35cm bream then rest pretty standard, me and my mate were fishing on the little bridge at apple and saw this layer of brown stuff slowly drifting towards us then we smelt it and pulled our lines in and bailed, it wasnt just a patch it was like from one end to the other  , i really want to put some effort into beach fishing and get into that soon
