Hi Yabbie, no such thing as a 1991 model 30HP Mariner. Get the serial number and I would be surprised if Merc or an aftermarket company would not have a switch box in stock we could order.

Are you certain that is the fault becasue ignition components are not returnable.

Cheers,

Huey.

Thanks for the reply, The Mariner is a Jap model which was made by Yamaha @ the time. the pic above shows the damaged unit, and the numbers on the Engine plate are as follows.

Hope this helps....... or someone can help me that is.

Part number and models it was on I think if it is a 3 cyl Yammi. Speak with a yammi dealer if a mariner dealer can't sort it or check yammi wreckers. They used the same CDI unit for many years.

Forget the batch and production numbers on the unit itself as they may have nothing to do with yammi but just their contract manufacturer numbers. Unless someone can explain what they mean in reference to different models to you..

The Yammi model designations were

E = Enduro Series

L = 20"

Then year designation

F = 1989

G = 1989

H = 1987

J = 1986

K = 1985

N = 1984

O = 1990

P = 1991

Q = 1992

R = 1993

S = 1994

T = 1995

U = 1996

V = 1997

W = 1998

X = 1999

Y = 2000

[/b]So that would make it a 1990 enduro series 20 inch shaft.

Hi Mate, your engine is older than you think as per the PM. As also mentioned in the PM make sure the CDI unit is at fault becasue they are expensive and unreturnable as mentioned. If you still want one I can confirm availabilty.

Cheers,

Huey.
