david88 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Hey guys. I wish to purchase a shimano stradic 2500 or similar class reel. Where is the cheapest place to pickup reels? are any tackle stores well known to be the cheapest for such items? I do not mind if it is used as long as it is in good condition. any advice would be greatly appreciated
g.t. Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 One of the site sponsors Pete from Go-fish Dural in renowned for helping out Raiders with price, and some of the best (and honest) advise going around. Do yourself a favour and head out there! I used to think online auction sites (no need to name) used to be worth a look, but a some friends have been burnt. Also, with the AU dollar not buying what it did a year ago, the overseas sellers aren't able to sell as cheap on these auctions sites as they used to.
tumra Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 mate there is a stradic at the bottom of pier 2..... a mate lost it when it got hit by a kingy last week.... its yours if you can retrieve it
Aloosh Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 ^ yeah dont rub it in ...couldve sworn it was a mullet that wacked it though ... i agree with g.t...wouldnt recommend using online auctions as the aussie dollar's not too solid.
DarkHorse Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Also a G-Loomis GL3 842-2 with Daiwa Luvias 2000 in the bottom of the Hawkesbury somewhere! My mate's son dropped it overboard during the fishing comp. He was not a very happy man, accidents happen. I don't know how I would have coped.............. Looking at a replacement value in the $1000 range! Personally I would have dived over and at least had a go or tried snagging it with some line. Rob

A quick look will show that site sponsor Go Fish is having a brilliant sale. Give him a call and I am sure you will get a pretty good price. Dave
