weekendfisher Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Hey Guys, New to the forms but have been reading around and have found it to be a good read. Anyhow a few mates and myself are looking at heading to woronora near the bridge to do a spot or fishing as i usually fish at the central coast and kissing point i am not sure of the area i wanted to know if it is worth going there what soft of fish would be on and if it is a good spot what would be the best baits for the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Thanks Hi weekendfisher to Fishraider. I gather you will be fishing landbased. A Good spot for you to fish close to your car and a spot where you could get in some good general fishing is just to the left hand side of the old bridge off the blackfish rocks on the road to Caravan Head and park less than 50 meters metres from the bridge. You're likely to get mullet on bread alongside the pylons for scaled strips and fillets for bait and it would be a good idea to get hold of a few satchels of dried beach worms and also buy some Hawkesbury prawns.... If I decided to fish the Woniora River for a day long session that's where I would fish landbased myself and I'd take a few rod holders with me, a net and a fold up chair. Edit It would be a good idea to take a poddy trap with you as they are a lot of Herring running in the upper Georges at the moment so there should be plenty in the Wonny and you can run those live on 3/0s. weekendfisher Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 Thanks mate, Yeah it will be land based until the boat comes back from the shop. i was told there would be some bream and possibly flattys around does this sound right ? thanks for the tips though and the welcome cheers
jewgaffer Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 No worries weekendfisher. In that spot in the Woronora River you can get Bream, Flathead, Blackfish, Whiting, Mullet, school Jewfish, Bull sharks and hopefully only Eel heads, and Catfish heads Cheers jewgaffer
