Land based Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 does anyone know good landbase fishing in the hawkesbury river or the harbour thanks peoples cheers I asked the same ? was told about Clifton Gardens in Sydney Up under the road bridge at Brooklyn is ok
neilm Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Can I suggest you both do a search (see options at top of screen) using keywords "land" and "based" using the search function. Don't forget to set the dates you're searching (in the options on the right) to "older than today". This will give you heaps of results and land based options - you'll see that these questions have been asked many many times, which is why people aren't so quick to respond any more - it doesn't mean they're not being helpful! If you get too many results then chuck in another keyword (perhaps the species you want to target, or perhaps a preferred area). It's important to realise that these forums are also a knowledge store as well as a place to ask questions, so search first, then ask specific questions when you want to get more detail. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
tevoro Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I asked the same ? was told about Clifton Gardens in Sydney Up under the road bridge at Brooklyn is ok I always fish land based, and would also like some advice on good spots.... I've never landed anything above 30cm in all my fishing trips though (Must be something Im doing wrong!) Was fishing last night under the Harbour bridge at Milsons Point. (from around 9pm - 12am) Didnt get many bites or biggies but it was a relaxing place to be. Theres even 24 hr security around there! I was just after the humble bream but there were some other fishos there targeting the bigger stuff with pilchards. Some guy caught an octopus AND a bream on the same cast in his Paternoster rig! The octopus freaked him out and he let it go though.
SimJ Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 A good way to find landbased spots is to use your street directory and check out beaches and Jetty/Wharfs, just remember a lot of the wharfs will have frequent ferrys. Once u get to the spots try asking the locals (nicely). Hope this helps, Simmo
