Hi All,

Lisa, Matt.P and I went for a look on Saturday morning, after i awoke and realised that it was going to be a perfect day, (28 and No Wind) I decided that it would be too good an opportunity to miss. I was also keen to test out my new rod and reel that i had bought during the week.

I arrived at the Carrington boat ramp to see more cars and trailers than i had ever seen there before, there must have been 50+ car/trailers... Either it was just the great weather... or someone had let the cat out of the bag. I put the boat in at 9:30am and headed for a look just on the north side of the Stockton breakwall. We fished there for about 1 hour with only a small amount of interest and a small Sand lizard, he went back to see another day. Since the high was at 11am, we headed to one of my favourite spots up the river to have a flick for some lizards on the top of the tide. As we went under the bridge, we could see where all the boats where... there must have been 40 boats between Stockton bridge and into Fullerton cove...

When we pulled up in the spot, the water was glass, and absolutely alive with mullet, i have never seen so many mullet jumping in my life, for about 2 hours there would have been at any one time, 3-5 large (30cm+) mullet in the air. Not sure what was causing it, but it was sure a site to see!

We started to drift along the shallows and we hooked up almost straight away to a nice 45cm lizard, followed by a few more good hook ups, for an hour and a half we landed a good bag of lizards on SP's and Prawns. The highlight of the day for me was my first Kilo+ Bream on SP's... I was using a 3 inch Berkeley Power Minnow in the pearl watermelon and the Bream took it very keenly, what a great way to test out the new gear! :biggrin2: It went 1.05 Kg...

The action cooled down as the tide moved into full gear, we left very happy with a good bag of fish for the day.

Went home and had a few  then threw the fish on the barby for an afternoon feast.

Tops!
