Guest hottuna
Just got in the squidgy 10 and 12 inch blue water livies (soft plastic). I have to say they resemble a real slimie, now all we need is a few bills to test them out on. Anyone tried them yet? Dan

knapers
You would think that they would do more research before putting the product on the line.
Aero
I've seen the lead headed one, Could be good for jigging marlin on deep bait balls, if you could be bothered. Is there a non-lead headed one available ?? Chris
Guest hottuna
Yes there very heavy. I`m told ( by a opposition rep) that alot of fish were taken in port on these new squidgies. Downrigged and trolled at about 4knots.... Kings would love them and i know of a certain island that hold big king to test them on. Just have to get there Mmmm maybe easter dan
Bashir
Before I sold my downrigger I managed to pick up a few respectable kings off places like avalon and newport on the chartreuse / pearl storm shads, so they would probably be the go for kings. Bashir
knapers they go real good over the inshore reefs trolling yakkas and slimies down deep. Got a nice big arse flattie once doing this too.
knapers
Why did you get rid of yours?
Bashir
It seemed like a good idea at the time as I was barely using it. I miss it sometimes, but not often. I can always get another one day.
knapers
How fast did you troll the livies and how deep. Thanks mate.
Bashir
How fast did you troll the livies and how deep. Thanks mate. 36983[/snapback] As slow as possible, preferably with the engine just in gear, up to 30m deep at times when you allow for the drop back and the weight planing back up. Some times it pays to drop the boat into neutral if you come across anything of particular interest on the sounder. Long reef is a perfect area for this sort of fishing. knapers
Spoke to Dad and we are fishing a comp this weekend so probably try for more Dolphin Fish, pitty the comp wasnt last weekend we would have done pretty well. I think its an interclub comp. Might try the Down rigger late Saturday afernoon at the Joey, when we troll for Tailor and Bonnies there we see some big fish on the sounder.
