andrew399 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I just managed to scab a tinny off one of my uncles so am stoked as, its a centre console about 15ft so should do me well for the harbour! However, it needs a new trailer and the engine is rooted so need a good 2nd hand 30-50hp. Neither have to be superb quality, motor just needs to start and trailer just needs to make it from manly to roseville. Where should i start looking and how much should i be paying roughly? Also does anyone know how much rego for boat and trailer will be? Thanks
King slayer Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Hey mate, I reckon you're normally best to go new if you can, unless you really know and trust the buyer, or have a good idea of engines etc. We picked up a new 30hp 2 stroke for about $2500, and a new trailer is around $1000 to $3000 depending on quality and size etc. You find with the used stuff a lot can go wrong and it can be more expensive (and annoying). Try huetts marine. Good guys there, my mate an i got our last tinnie there. Dave
andrew399 Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 thanks mate, will shoot him a PM right now!
pelican Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Dicko that will be easilly launchable at the little manly ramp and save the drive time unless it is too rough and you need protection of middle harbour!!

selous Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) For the trailer, There is a place at Rydalmere. They are a small outfit but will make up a trailer to what you want. I had never heard of them before they were recommended to me when I was looking for a trailer, but I was quite impressed with the quality of their work and the prices are pretty good too. I bought my trailer from them a couple of weeks ago. Standard trailers can be made up pretty much on the spot, but if you want it customised it can take a couple of days.
