what the hell is that deformed contraption?

HAHAHA,

Mate, the pictures dont do it justice.

It is a Megabass rod.

Nice rod Vince!

Megabass make great rods for sure!

They seem a little short for my liking in terms of a snapper outfits but I prefere long rods for extra long casting. Mine start at 8'2" to 9ft.

Broke 2 Morthan Branzino rods in the last 2 months  .

Waiting for Mr Miller for my customs but a few more months to go I have just been notified.... :mad3:

So yep went shopping at the usual, ever heard of UFM rods?

Gone a 9ft one for monter casts!

Also got a normal Morthan rod this time. At 300USD cheaper than the Branzino it's a good "will do in the mean time" rod.

Greg,

I havent had much problem with a 7 - 7'6" rods for snapper fishing on my little boat. I think a 9 foot rod from a little boat would just cause heaps of troubles but mate would cast a mile.

Those UFM rods are very cool thats for sure but also even more megga bucks than the megabass.

I looked at the morethan rod and compared with the megabass, also the new samurai, the zion rod and even a loomis. If i didnt get the megabass i prob would have gone the morethan (sooooo light)

How do you break 2 rods in 2 months?????

How have you been going on the reds? I think i am converted... :tease:

Re branzinos....

Don't want to talk about it..... :mad3:

I'm just so glad at Daiwa rep was on the boat and saw both incidents, even happer that both of them were bought here and not OS so I got warranty!

Haven't done much fishing in Sydney since last year with our busy season over Christmas new year, then we've been going north for them instead. Been hooking some nice ones but the buggers get the better of me. Moving up in tackle for fishing up there now, sick of getting smoked daily......

Respooling ATM with the Branzino line in 25lb, hopefully I can turn a few on the heavier line....

hehehe :Funny-Post:

Hope you got a good discount, the damned thing is bent :tease:

Serious looking piece of techno wizardry there for sure :1yikes:

You may have to look at putting on a sacrificial anode. Wouldn't like to put it in storage for winter and come back to use it in summer only to see erosion.

Could possibly be an issue?????

Cheers

please dont start out casting me greg

i couldnt cope

interesting under 7 ft seemed to be the way to go not long ago

9ft could be the bench mark and if we dont try we wont know

i think we could easily handle that lenght even is my small boat

ive seen nth coast snapper bait fishos with 4 /12 ft rods out the back

believe it or not

greg your choice of tackle makes me sick

you suck

good point for all you guys buy your tackle here and you wont have a problem with warranty or maitenace

daiwa australia will not help you if you purchased your gear o/s and with good reason

not long ago people were saying my 8 ft sol rod was to long

ha ha ha

csg,

It tucks away nicely under the armpit and also under your forearm.

It also casts a mile!!!!!!!!!

7'2" so its not too short but nothing like 8 - 9 foot!!!!!! :1yikes:

Also I Bought it here. With the dollar where it is atm it works out about the same and no waranty issues.

That's one helluva schmick looking combo... Looks like it was inspired by a light sabre! :074: I'm very envious.

I wish I could join in, but my equipment's not flash enough to compete in yours and GregL's "rod" measuring contest! :1prop:
