Basil D
Me and the my both sons went to Bare Island yesterday(wed) for a relaxing day, bought some coffee and just walked along the Bridge, my son Brought his rod along and did some fishing, WOW!!! we both called out, hundreds of salmon and king fish, they were chasing bait fish, i found some foil and quickly wrapped it around the line near the hook and tried to spin for them, But they weren't interested, cast after cast after cast, they thumbed there noses at us, the wasnt impressed, hey the calles out, we are here to relax, you have your fishing, i have our coffee break VOICES!!! do i hear VOICES, so the takes a walk with my older son, meanwhile me and my youngest son (SPINNER7) decided were coming with the boat on thursday. so up we got thursday morning and went to bestic st ramp, we did leave it till late, about 10am, buy hey we hit the water. went to the third runway and fished there a while, two boats up from us, this guy pulls in a HUGE Flathead, about 80cm to 90cm:1yikes: , we didnt have any luck, so about 11.30, went closer to a spot not far from bare Irland, put three rods and and one goes of after about ten minuets, nice 33cm Snapper, not bad i thought, Me and this Guy in the boat next to us started talking and the guy says drop your bait to the bottom, when it hits the bottom, reel it in about a meter and leave it there, so i did just that. so i start rigging up my other rod and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz my rod goes off, started to fight it in and looked like a nice size trevally i screamed out, NO MY son screams out, its a King Fish, by then it was under the boat and didnt see it properly, what a fight this Fish is putting up, three minutes later WOW i see it my First ever King Fish, my son gets the net and it was safely in the boat, 67cm, ok its my first so its a metre to me im hooked line, hook and sinker, cant wait to get out there again for more
