Pirtek Fishing Challenge!

Boog's Boat

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone had any Fish to submit. Was all set to go this morning and decided to pull the plug at 5am without even getting the boat out of the garage. Was Hoping to have a crack at some whiting this arvo on Poppers on the High tide but it is still bloody ordinary around the Southern end of the Central Coast.

So $15 for a hat and a Brag mat is still money well spent.

Good Luck to anyone who managed to battle the weather God and pick up a fish or Two

Hi Ray,

I decided to spend the day cleaning the boat, she is now sparkling clean, vacuumed floors, all gear has been resorted and put back in its correct place waiting and preying that next weekend will allow us to get out and get amongst it.

I'd say the weather got the better of most of us around sydney. So bloody windy!

Decided to try for some lizards at narrabeen lakes... found a semi sheltered area away from the wind.

Fished predominantly SPs with a few hits but no hook ups, most people i spoke to hadn't been successful...

Also got some worms for the whiting but no luck there.

Thats fishing and it was agreat cause to be participating.

Hope to hear other raiders who braved the wind..

What a day where do i start here goes.Got to brooklyn about 6ish loaded up the boat and we were away.Weather was against us from the start but we were determined.20 minutes in and bang one of my offsiders hooks onto a75 cm lizard went for the net but it was nowhere 2 be found went for the gaff not in sit either left them in the car.Lizzard spat hook not happy, now at this point we should have gone back and got it but this never happened.Did a drift across mullet creek for a 50 cm flatty and lost another around 70 cm no net.Headed behind danger island 2 escape the wind got a couple more flatties 40cm and a few flounder.Decided 2 hit the rail bridge anchored up 2 45cm soapies straight off the bat then a 35 cm bream. This is the sad part, mate hooks up on his small rig has a good tussel i call it a jew 2 my suprise he pulls the biggest lizzard i have ever seen it was easy a meter all we had 2 do was land this croc and we were in with a very good chance of winning this comp.but useing a milk crate as a landing net it was never going 2 happen. He spat the hook and some profound language echoed across the mighty hawkesbury. We cut our losses and headed back ,we still had a good feed and we were out there. You cant win them all :mad3:

Diesel Diesel Diesel,

That is normally the story of my life too, any day we forget the net is the day we get on to the crabs. So it doesn't surprise me that today of all days you forget the net and you hook up quality fish. The fish and weather Gods in all the powers ruined what would have been an absolute pearler of a day. Oh well there is always next year. And I now have a very clean boat.

Dale,

$5000 would have made a pretty good Birthday Bonus, Pity it didn't come off.

Iam in for next year hopefully they run it again its a great cause.

Darn it, Diesel! Bet you'll have a net on top of your Xmas wish list now!! :1badmood: Bummer! When they are that size, always difficult to get onto the boat! I had one a couple of years back where the head was wider than my net ...... it was never going to happen! :ranting2: Ah well, self released, best results, really!

Better luck next year!

Cheerio

Slinky & I called it quits with the weather looking crap.

We should have had a crack as it wasn't that bad. :1badmood:

Had a fish out the back for a small flatty & dropped a reasonable fish as well but pretty quiet.

I'm happy to have made the donation to a great charity all the same.

Cheers,

Grant.

myself & kiwi waynie hit windemere dam, waynie got a 42cm yella on his 2nd cast, before the southerly hit & the barometer plumeted. fished on switching lures all day for a few follows & half hearted hits, i think we were lucky to get that early fish.

As I am moving house next week and there is a fare bit of cleaning up and packing to be done I decided that rather than fish in a 30knt southerly with intermittent rain my time would be better spent in bed all morning then down the club :1prop:

we put the boat in at 230 pm an headed over to paddy channel for a few elbow slapping whiting but the pesty bream drove us insane. Got 15 bream with 2 over a 1kg, 3 flatties an 2 whiting with the biggest a mere 37cm but you have to be in it to win. First time i have had hail in the boat but at least we were facing the same way we were fishing, Got the boat out at 530 b4 the next downpour.

Hopefully next year it will be flathead and bream because Brisbane Waters has been producing some crackin bream at the moment. My mate got one on Tuesday night 1.2kg cleaned, which is supported by funnierthanu's couple in paddys channel. It would be great if they run it again next year, I,ll be in for shore
