Penguin
Hi everyone, I had a couple of spare hours up my sleeve this afternoon so I headed out to Larpa to see if I can catch me a feed of Squid. It was pretty quiet at first, then as I worked my way around the shoreline I found a patch of good looking kelp. I managed to pull these 5 Squid in around 10 or so casts with my jig, then it went dead again. There were a few Salmon schooling around but no one was hooking up on them, I had my lunch caught for tomorrow so i was pleased. Yamashita 2.0 jig in natural colour was the only jig to hook up. penguin

WANNAFISH
Good work mate. Hard to come by these squids. Was there last week and didnt get any. Just kelp. But the salmon were taking s/p. The wriggler and lobby while tageting breem and flatties.
jim77
Nice work Penguin. You've got better self control than me! I would have been using them for bait. They do taste great but the chance of turning them into a big King is always too tempting!

They do taste great but the chance of turning them into a big King is always too tempting! The temptation is there for me also, but last time when i caught a few squid in the Harbour and i live baited them, they caught me no kings. We only managed Kings on large peeled prawns and pilly cubes, the squid got wasted by pickers, so now I prefer to eat them myself.

You catch enough fish on PPP without wasting a perfectly good feed of calamari Cheers Hodgey
