Not a bad session at all. Any brakish water further up maybe Bass hanging around.

Planning on heading up that way on Good Friday with the missus family. In order to keep my sanity I moght need to bring my fly and spinning gear. Any ideas on what type of lures or flies. Is the water accessible by kayak.from the picnic areas.

I've never been that far up the river. Can you get power boats up there or is to shallow?

Hi Joe

It is shallow in spots and lots of rock right up the end, but i ran into a guy in a hornet up there doing some bait fishing so it must be ok. I tend not to worry about the channels that much but the electric didnt bottom out :1yikes:

cheers

Chris

fly would be great on the flats, theres some serious size fat ass mullet up there! would be great to hook one of them on fly.

I was using 3" Bass Minnows for the fish i did get, tried some HB's and surface lures for nothing.

You can put the kayak in nearly anywhere in Woronora, theres also two or three boat ramps.

cheers

Nice work Chris. I was up there recently with Matt, we had a decent little session with quite a few small fish caught. It's a great place to fish, I should make the trip more often.  :biggrin2:

Gday Andrew

yeah I have caught mostly small fish up there, bream wise, some ok flsatties and some big hits missed near the bottom (could be big flatties...?)

Nice area to look at though :)

Hey Chris,

I've fished the Worny a fair bit and all my EPs from there (not that there's been that many), have come on the turn of the tide, high or low.

About now would be a great time to target them, I know the ones up in Middle Harbour get a bit active after and during a lot of rain, and I imagine the Worny wouldn't be much different.

The Wony is my backyard and the secret is to hit it early before all the small boats and kids in hire canoes splash around the place.

As far as EP,s go they will school up on the deeper sections of the river on the bends starting in june going through to August, they find a small rio prawn hard to knock back.
