Hey Simmo,

i caught a fish there last night :D :D :D:D:D:D:D

it was a pretty snapper(i am pretty sure). being the model citizen i am he went back in the water after the quick photo as he was only small. i tossed him on the other side of the jetty, but he swam back to where i got him from... silly fish!

Nice catch Simmo.

I agree with previous posts your jacket is a Unicorn jacket.

Here's a bit of info about the species.

Its a tropical species, and not often found in Southern waters.

It prefers deep offshore water, but has been found in coastal bays.

It is a close relation to the Scribbled jacket.

Regards

G

The last time I caught a unicorn jacket was a few years ago, on the south peak edge in about 80m depth.

It tasted Great.

Simmo

I was catching these with a net about 2 weeks ago in the harbour around the wedding cakes as my mate slowly retrieved a lure bait whatever they would follow right up to the boat and WHAM in the net they went a few boats beside could not believe it

good on you mate keep on :1fishing1: !

Adzzy, Im not surprised that u could net them. When we saw them they were in a group of about 5 or 6 and they would circle the red and white floats in the water, every now and then they would try to bite the floats, they didnt look particularly bright.
