brendong
On the way to work the other morning, the traffic report said that Audley Weir was under a foot of water and closed. It struck me that there is a fair chance that the breambo's, bass and flatty's would be sitting at the overflow zone probably eating themselves silly when this occurs. I'm certain there would huge amounts small minnows, baby carp, worms and all manner of things for them to eat or pounce on when this occurs. And its probably the reason Bass got in the Hacking in the first place (not that I've ever seen one) Has anyone fished a weir in an overflow situation and how did you go? I'm guessing you need a good electric and sizable jig head to get down, as the water could be ripping out?

Interesting topic Poddy Trapper, particularly in respect of what's happening just down river on the park side of Audley..these electric motors would be great for moving around looking at the water for signs of relief and holding a boat and checking the deeper points and eddy pockets for still debry whilst assuming fish would be holding there seeking food as well as relief from too much fresh above...
