im thinking of rigging gulps on a dropshot rig or even a hook and a sinker running above it

when i go for bream i think the bream is taking my lure but its spitting it because of the jighead weight

read somewhere that bream chews on the food and spits it out if theres weight

maybe the running sinker above the hook will allow me more time to strike, because they hold on due to it feeling more natural?

i fish of a kayak and geting live or fresh bait is hard work... frozen doesn't do the trick from my research

doing well on gulp with jigheads but never got over 5bream in 1 session

i guess it would be deadsticking the gulp , really using it as bait but sometimes i doin't work my lure and i get fish so as long as the bream hold on long enough should be geting more sucessful strikes

any ideas?

Yes mate that's any easy question ... make up your own rigs using four paternostas , 40lb mono, 4/0 wide gapes and a heavy drop shot lead...... Either ring the tug master or keep your eyes open for when the container boat in the centre pulls out of the Bay and come back in your kayak and fish the run in tide after it's gone :1yikes:

Cheers

If you're fishing shallow water or shallow try fishing your gulps unweighed.

If you're fishing deep water dropshotting would be the way to go. I've never tried deadsticking a plastic but I can't see why it won't work as gulp's can work like bait any way.

Another option you might want to try in deeper water is fishing a blade. You've got 2 sets of trebles with a blade compared to a single hook with a plastic and you'll have a much better hook up rate.

you guys are great!! to help a young fisherman ,18months.

very helpful

well what i meant was i do work my plastics

but i sometimes talk to my mate..... which i left it down there for 10secs (usually i work it and leave it for 3)

and sometimes thats when i get a bream hit, so im guessing its deadsticking

or maybe that is the best way to work ur plastic in 4-5m of water , meaning really slow?

flick every 10secs?

i am planning to fish 5-6m soon

and looks like dropshot is best way with a palomar knot and sinker on bottem?

or stick with 1/8th? or 1/6th?

how many metres to start drop shotting?

thanks guys!!

yes i am buying a golden boy blade from fish therapy soon, i have a mango colour because he only had that and caught 1 bream

but gulps work better so i stuck to what worked better to get the fish home ^^

what is deep water ? like 6m plus or?
