scotty d
on saturday night went for a sesh in the hacking for a jew. found a nice drop off and settled in for a long sesh when after an hour another boat came and anchored no more than 13 m from us, probably closer. they actually anchored right where i was casting my bream rod. i couldnt believe it. personally i wouldnt go with in cooee of anyone .the exact same thing happened at como a few weeks ago. its not like it was in the middle of the day and there were boats everywhere so what is the need of parking so close? anyway we moved and ended up having a good night , no jew but some promising runs and good squid. slinkymalinky
G'day Scotty, When Jewhunter and I fish the Seaway there are often quite a few other boats around. We work on the principal that we want to anchor far enough away from others so that should they hook a good fish, there's almost no chance we would be in the way should it make good runs. Give people plenty of room as we're moving too. Sometimes it's not easy but I share your frustration as many other boaties don't work with the same courtesy. That's just life unfortunately... some people just don't think. We were on one of my little bait marks last weekend and we had one guy come roaring over and pull up right next to us so he could have a good look at what we were doing and as soon as he saw a bent rod, he started trying to follow our drift. Rule of thumb... don't place your boat anywhere you wouldn't want someone doing to you. Cheers, Slinky
shaune
This is one of my pet hates too. Another one is where you make a big effort to get to a land based spot and a boat comes and anchors within casting range right in front of you. They have the freedom to go anywhere they want but whereas your land based opportunities are very limited. Makes you want to accidently cast a big sinker at their boat. Mate it would have been a real shame if your bream hook got stuck in the anchor rope of the offending boat... ever pulled an anchor rope in with a hook stuck in it? Anyone that has will not anchor on top of another boat again without thinking twice if you know what i mean...can get real painful!
Flightmanager
Sadly , this will happen often. Commonsense would suggest that you anchor away from another persons drift ( this seems to be particularly the case when chasing jew). I could only suggest that you accept this as part of fishing . ( Yeah , it pisses me off too !) Ross Sadly , this will happen often. wahcat
Hay Scotty, By chance the boat your talking about was it a tiller steer, green hull with white top trim fiberglass boat with 2 blokes on board? I see this clown in the hacking all the time and if he comes across someone fishing he must figure you are getting fish so he sits right on top of you. If you say something to him he carries on a treat.

The highlighted bit seem to happen alot to me I dont understand why they would want to do that... Once I got the 1 finger salute when I told the guys on the boat that they're on my burley trail and my line was actually right BELOW where they've decided to park their boat!
