Catchin Jack
I prefer using 8lb braid and the tt lures switchblade or berkley big eye blades. Keep an eye out for the Berkley Powerbait MF40, they're a new "soft" vibe and the reports from those who have tested them out is good, they should be in stores in the next few weeks, 2 in a pack for around the $10-$12 mark. They're soft, a vibe and scented, can't wait to try them, already ordered a few.

From memory, cost me around the $160 mark. Cant fault the rod. Light weight for casting all the time etc, and has a really good action when your on. Slaka
Take a look at the Nitro Vapour 1-3kg rod. They are normally about $400 but I have seen them as low as $350 if you shop around. I've had one for about 6 months and I love it, extremely light, really nice feel and very strong. The good thing is with tese rods is they have a warranty similar to G Loomis, if you break a section (they are 2 piece) you can have it replaced for $70, no questions asked.
