archilles2
Hey all, I'm going shopping on Friday for a beach rod to match my 6500b or 760 L live liner. To be honest, i don't want to spend too much on the rod but i want something that can tackle big jewwies ( up to 1m ) with a good 20 - 30 m casting distance. 1. How big should my rod be ? 12ft / bigger ? 10 - 15 kg's? 2. Could i find something for under $100 ? I'm visiting a shop on Friday but i don't know what to look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated
shane87
Don't sell yourself short on a rod as it will do all the work. Reels especially for beach fishing are pretty much just there to hold the line for you. A good 12ft 7144 for 20lb line and up to 3-4oz casts weights or an 8144 for 25-30lb line and up to 6oz casts weights will set you back around the 175-200 mark.
