MaccaPoint Matty
Hey Raiders, I am heading down to my sisters place in Cowra and staying in a place near Wyangla Dam.. I know the water level is pretty low down there however I have heard there is a heap of Carp in the dam so I thought I might try my luck and see if I can get rid of some of those pests! I have never fished for Carp before so any tips on rigs would be very helpful.. I have heard Corn and Bread are good baits but again any further help would be good. Also, if anyone has fished the dam before is there any other fish I could target? I will be LB. Thanks Raiders... Hope to see some good reports from the weekend.. Cheers MPM Edited June 25, 2009 by MaccaPoint Matty
andrew399
Fished the dam a bit when i was younger. There are plenty of carp, but also golden perch, cod and trout. Just fish around the snags. I dunno how it fishes now days though...
Yarraone
The fishing has been hard but there are still the cod getting around..fish the snags and vary your bait or plastics
GUDude
G'Day Matty, I have fished for them on the Abbercrombie river using small plastics ~50mm and the small hardbodies in the rainbow trout colour. They get real hungry when stuck in pools as the river dries up, great fun on light spin gear. Cheers, GUDude
