Ray R Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Hi Raiders, I went down to Avoca for a late arvo fish, the tide was low but I was still able to find a lateral gutter, there were a few things out there and one of them was a Dart, haven't caught one of them for a long time, he was released cause I was after Bream. Just on dark now and the tide had come in a bit, the water was beautiful about 20-21 I reckon, there air temp was a heap less cause I was cold and my nose was running,I was just about to go home when I finally got a nice strike on my pilly tail, I haul the beast to the beach and in the ambient light of the surrounding homes and street lights I could see it is the animal I was after, now he can consider himself lucky because I was bloody freezing and my hands half numb so I took the hook out of this fella let him dance on the sand for a brief moment while I snapped him then back into the briney he went. So that was my arvo down the beach, a bit chilly and I must wear a jacket next time, took a couple of shots of the beach, I've looked at her 5 million times and I still reckon she's a lovely part of the world.. Cheers...
tan the fisherman Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Gday Ray, good on ya for getting out - it sure is a lovely part of the world up there.
jewiehaven Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 (edited) Very nice Ray... I gotta hand it to ya, you always take AWESOME piccies if the local area. It looks like you are near the shark tower if I am correct I do believe so, I know you are not quite far eneough down the beach to be in front of "the pines" AAAhhhhhhhh...... Avoca is still one of my favourite beaches of all time for surfing. Its a very nice plump Bream mate- you must have been frozen to the core, I woulda kept him and had a nice din-din outta him- jut add beer and chips! Top report as usual Beers'n'cheers Anthony Edited June 25, 2009 by jewiehaven

slinkymalinky Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 That's a great looking gutter Ray. Looks very cold to be out though. Great to get the whole beach pretty much to yourself. Cheers, Slinky
james7 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 took a couple of shots of the beach, I've looked at her 5 million times and I still reckon she's a lovely part of the world.. No arguments here Ray. Beautiful place! I'm a bit disappointed with the bream shot Ray. It's covered in sand! You normally only take "glamour" photos of bream! Cheers Peter

Hutcho1 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Nice Bream mate, Looks like you don't always need a boat for a quality fish. We should do an ol' Jewy beach hunt soon after you get my present!!! But let's go hunting snapper on Sunday first. Regards, Hutcho
